SSC Grading System
We know, there are three groups in SSC Syllabus-
- Humanities and
- Business studies
Subjects vary from group to group. But there are common subjects that should be taken by each group. Those are-
- English and
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
Without these 3 subjects, the rest of the subjects are specialized subject for each group.
There is also an optional subject for each group. It is totally depending on the student if he/she wants to take the subject or not.
Each subject may have the subjective, objective and practical section. And a student should pass individually each of the section. The pass mark for each subject or section is 33%.
The maximum grade for a subject is A (+) plus and the minimum is D. let’s have a look in the chart below to know grade according to marks-
|Marks Boundary||Grade Points||Symbol of Grade|
So, the question is, how will it calculate for GPA (Grade Point Average)?
Simple, sum up the total grade point and divide it by total subject (exclude the optional subject). This is the GPA.
Total GPA will be maximum 5. You know, if anyone gets grade point 5 in all subjects including the optional subject, then the GPA will exceed GPA 5. Because we do not divide the total Grade Point by the optional subject.
On the other hand, the optional subject helps those students who failed to achieve a Grade Point of 5 in a subject. The system helps those students to get GPA 5.
